Many homeowners will have to replace their roof at some point in their lives. Roofs can last for many years but they will eventually wear out. KCG Roofing and Carpentry can help you get a new roof soon. Over the years, our team of specialists has replaced and repaired hundreds of roofs.

Although a roof replacement can be a complicated project, we will make sure your home and family are ready for it. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!

TIPS FOR RESIDENTIAL REPLACEMENT OF THE ROOF

Before you start any project, prepare your house both inside and out. To prevent debris from falling on your household items, cover all furniture, bedding, and clothing. You can cover your attic with an attic tarp.

If you have items that could be damaged by falling debris or are located near your home’s exterior, please move them to a nearby shack. These items include patio furniture, barbecues, statues and potted plants. If you have satellite dishes, solar panels or antennas on your roof, take them down.

PETS AND CHILDREN

Be extra careful if you have pets or children during roof replacement. Talk to your children about the importance of staying indoors while the roof is being replaced. They could be hurt by falling debris.

Place your pet in the most peaceful room possible. You might find them stressed by the noises above their heads. We recommend keeping your pet safe and only letting it out on a leash during construction.

REMOVE ALL WALL DECORATIONS

During roof replacement, vibrations may occur in your home. The vibrations will most affect the top floors. We recommend removing any wall decorations that might be shaking, such as paintings and other wall art. This will stop them falling or shattering.

HOMEOWNERS – ADDITIONAL TIPS

Make sure your gates are open for roofers if you have them. Ask them to close all gates.

You might get a dumpster delivered to your home a few days before the roof replacement. You might receive the new roofing material a few days prior to the replacement. Ask your roofer when it will happen so that you know who is available to move cars around the driveway.
